Raw Material Import and Overseas Sourcing

In raw material imports, the purchasing decision rests on specifications before price. Products sold under the same name can arrive with different purity, particle size or additive ratio. That is why manufacturer documents, samples and batch-level checks must be defined from the start.

What do we check in this sector?

Clarifying technical specifications

We put critical values such as purity/ratio, particle size, viscosity, moisture, colour and intended use in writing before ordering.

Manufacturer research

We separate the producing plant from trading companies and assess production capacity and product range.

Manufacturer documents: COA, TDS, SDS

The certificate of analysis (COA), technical data sheet (TDS) and safety data sheet (SDS) are requested; the values in the documents are compared with your required specification.

Sample and batch control

Pre-verification is done on the sample, then consistency of the production batch with the sample is planned.

MOQ, packaging and storage

Minimum order quantity, bag/drum/big-bag packaging options and shelf life are assessed against your stock plan.

HS code and total import cost

Duties and possible additional obligations are checked via the HS code; unit cost is calculated per ton or kilogram.

Risks you may face in the import process

  • Production batch not matching the sample

When a batch arrives with properties different from the approved sample, waste and downtime can occur on your production line.

  • Missing or outdated documents

Missing COA, TDS or SDS disrupts both production quality and customs and occupational safety processes.

  • Deterioration from packaging and moisture

Unsuitable packaging leads to caking, moisture absorption or quality loss during long sea voyages.

  • MOQ not matching your needs

A high minimum order quantity means stock and tied-up capital above your actual consumption.

  • Incorrect HS code and additional financial obligations

Tariff differences in chemical and raw material groups bring the possibility of additional obligations such as surveillance or anti-dumping.

How do we work?

1. Specification study

We define the required technical values and acceptance ranges together based on your intended use.

2. Manufacturer research and document request

Suitable manufacturers are contacted; COA, TDS and SDS documents are requested with the quotation.

3. Sample verification

Specifications are compared on the sample, and an analysis process is planned if needed.

4. Cost, order and shipment

Unit cost is finalised; packaging, loading and customs are followed up.

Details on the whole process can be found on our How We Work page.
